About rule set management

When data is entered into the system, rule sets determine whether the data is valid based on criteria specified in the rule. With some exceptions, the Administrator may modify rule set criteria to enforce specific agency and/or payroll provider guidelines.

The following rule sets are available:

  • Authentication Validation. These rules validate user authentication attempts.

  • Password Validation. These rules validate user passwords.

  • Pay Provider Validation. These rules validate timesheet data entered by users.

  • Work Schedule Input Validation. These rules validate work schedule data entered by users.

Rule Management page contents

The Rule Sets table includes these columns:

  • Name. The name of the rule. This field is read-only.

  • Prefix. The prefix that precedes the rule ID, for example, AV_MC_1. Each ID begins with one of the following prefixes:

    • AV = Authentication Validation

    • PV = Password Validation

    • PPV = Pay Provider Validation

    • WSIV = Work Schedule Input Validation

  • Description. A brief explanation of each rule set.
