About the Reports Module

The Reports Module enhances system performance by sending reporting processes to separate application servers and database servers. This minimizes the impact of running reports that involve large amounts of data.

Reports Module tools are listed below:

  • Schedule Report tool. Users can work with this tool to schedule reports to automatically run at regular intervals throughout the pay period. The tool also includes an option to e-mail the report output in a specific file format. For more, refer to Working with the Report Schedule tool.

  • Ad Hoc Report tool. Users can work with this tool to create custom “ad hoc” reports. Ad hoc reports can be saved for future use, scheduled to run automatically, shared with other users, modified, or deleted. For more, refer to Working with the Ad Hoc reports tool.

Reports Module page contents

The Reports Module page displays existing ad hoc reports. The page includes these columns:

  • Name link. The name of the ad hoc report. Click the Name link to open the ad hoc report.

  • Description. A brief description of the ad hoc report.

  • Owner. The user ID, last name, and first name of the user who created the ad hoc report. For example, Adams, Julie - JULIE.ADAMS.

  • Copy. Click Copy to create a duplicate of the report.

  • Delete. Click the trash icon to delete the report.

The Add New Adhoc Report option displays below the table.

Reports Module search criteria

Use the following search criteria to search for a specific ad hoc report:

  • Name. The name of the report.

  • Description. The description of the report.

Sorting table columns

You can quickly sort most table columns by clicking on the column header. For details, refer to the bullets listed below.

  • To identify whether a column can be sorted, hover the cursor over the column header. If an underline appears under the header text, it indicates that the column is sortable.

  • Next, to sort the column, click the column header. A triangle arrow displays to the left of the header and the column information is sorted. Values are listed in ascending order (indicated by the up-pointing triangle) or descending order (indicated by the down-pointing triangle.)

  • To reverse the sort order, click the column header.

  • If a table has multiple columns, the column with the triangle arrow identifies the column that is currently sorted.
