About access levels

To comply with UKG's minimum product security standards, security access levels are specified by default in some password validation (PV) and authentication validation (AV) rules.

The Access Levels page identifies the Low, Medium or High access level associated with each role. Click Passwords & Authentication > Access Levels on the Administrator main menu to open the Access Levels page.

Access levels are described below.

  • Low. The Low security access level is assigned to the Employee role. Depending on the rule, the value assigned to the access level may vary. For details, refer to About authentication validation rules and About password validation rules.

  • Medium. The Medium security access level is assigned to the roles listed below. Depending on the rule, the value assigned to the access level may vary. For details, refer to About authentication validation rules and About password validation rules.

    • COP Administrator

    • ECM Administrator

    • Project Manager

    • Supervisor

    • Timekeeper

    • Telework Coordinator

    • Telework Managing Officer

  • High. The High security access level is assigned to the roles listed below. Depending on the rule, the value assigned to the access level may vary. For details, refer to About authentication validation rules and About password validation rules.

    • Access

    • Administrator

    • Administrator Read Only

    • Configuration Manager

    • Developer

    • Engineer

    • HR Administrator

    • Master Supervisor

    • Master Timekeeper

By default, the Access Levels page is read-only. Upon request by the agency, UKG Professional Services can adjust the access level assigned to a role and/or the value specified for Low, Medium or High in authentication validation rules and password validation rules.
